CAMP BITOBI

Camp Bitobi is the site of the Eastern Area Baptist camping program. It is a beautiful lakefront camp of 200 acres, with a beach on Lake Bitobi. There is a large lodge with a kitchen and group dining area, several sleeping cabins, and washroom buildings with running water. There are a limited number of canoes and paddle-boats available.

Campers must bring their own food and bedding, and may reserve a cabin, or bring their own tent or trailer (no hookups). The kitchen has refrigerators, freezers, and stove to be shared, as well as dishes and cutlery, pots, pans and cooking utensils. Groceries can be purchased in nearby Gracefield.

The Relax! Camp runs from 7:00 p.m. on Friday July 6 until 3:00 p.m. on Sunday July 8. Campers can arrive any time on Friday. There will be a Bible study for all ages, swimming, campfires, a communal pot luck supper on Saturday, pancake breakfast on Sunday, and Sunday morning worship service.

Please note that this year, there will NOT be an Intergenerational Camp at Bitobi.

WHAT TO BRING: Bedding, towels, lawn chair, flashlight, rain gear, your own food, medical information, Bible, games, puzzles, musical instruments, camera, sun screen and hat, mosquito repellent.

Come for as long as you can, even if it’s only for a day of swimming and picnicking.

PLEASE DON'T BRING: pets, ghetto blasters, alcoholic beverages, recreational drugs, etc.

A designated smoking area can be provided.

DIRECTIONS:

From Ottawa, go through Gatineau (Hull) to take Highway 5, then 105 north through Wakefield to Gracefield, Quebec (about 50 km). Go another 9 km on 105, then turn RIGHT at the sign for Pointe Comfort (towards Lake Bitobi). Go over two bridges (8 km) and turn RIGHT immediately after the second bridge, onto Chemin Parker. Continue on this road, and take the left fork when the road seems to end (at the old barn). Camp Bitobi is at the end of the road.
